Obituary of Burton Hedges
Burton W. Hedges Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep with family by his side on August 25, 2017 at the age of 76. He was born to Burton and Clela Hedges on October 6, 1940 in Cashmere, WA. He was a lifelong resident of Camas, WA after his family moved there in 1948.
Burt joined the Army in July 1961 and served until September 1964. He worked construction until joining the Crown Zellerbach (Georgia Pacific) paper mill in Camas in 1974, where he remained until retirement.
Burt enjoyed sturgeon fishing, and trips to Long Beach with his wife Beverly of 36 years. He also liked spending time at community events such as Camas Days and the Clark County Fair.
He is survived by his wife Beverly; brothers Robert and Mike Hedges, sisters Donna Lampert and Celia Graham, daughter Traci Flanery (Shawn), son Scott Hedges (Tonya), stepdaughters Sherri Smith (Bruce), Suzanne Lawhorn, grandchildren Jordan, Kodee, Austin, Zachary, Brandon, Joshua, McKenna, Ashley, Chase, and great grandson Jaxon.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 16 from noon - 3:00pm at the Camas Washougal Wildlife League, 811 SE Leadbetter Rd, Camas, WA.
