Obituary of Stephen D Morgensen
Stephen D. “Bud” Morgensen went home to be with the Lord August 9th, 2017. He was born September 6th, 1962 in Renton, WA, he was 54 years old. When he was young he traveled to many places and went to several different schools. As a teen he went to Washougal High then proceeded to graduate from Camas High School in 1980. After graduation he spent two years in Alaska working on a crab processor in the Aleutian Islands. He came home to reconnect with his teenage love, Yolanda Dole and they were married August 17th, 1985. Bud and Yolanda went on to have two children, Jacob (29) and Tianna (27).
His working career included Tidewater Barge, Davey Tree Service, The Oregonian, and then he started working for Hi Way Fuel in 1987 as an Alignment and Front End Technician and happily worked there until his death.
Bud was a man of many talents and hobbies. His greatest treasures were his children and grandchildren. In his free time he truly enjoyed camping with his family (no matter how much they complained), dirtbiking, going to the shooting range with his boys, being outdoors, repairing and restoring vehicles of any type, raising alpacas, as well as reading and learning new things, whether it be from literature or from in his bible. He was also an active member of Gateway Community Church where he loved to serve his Lord.
He is survived by Yolanda M. Morgensen (wife) of Washougal. His children Jacob C. Morgensen of Vancouver and Tianna L. Hunter (Cameron ) also of Vancouver. His mother Sheryl M. Malfait (R. Scott ) of Washougal. Father-in-law Fredrick W. Dole of Milwaukie, his grandbabies Taylor D. Hunter-Rooks and Emeri M. Hunter, Sisters: Kimberly A. Messick of Washougal and Ericka Lee Hickey (Josh) of Bremerton, brother-in-law James D. Dole (Marcie) of Camas, five nieces: Chelsea, Kate, Kaela, Audrey and Ava. As well as two nephews: Brandon and Connor, one uncle and three aunts. Proceeded in death by his father John E. Morgensen, his mother-in-law and three uncles.
Like Bud always said: “IT’LL BE FINE”
A service will be held for Bud at Gateway Community Church 1235 E St. Washougal WA 98671 on Saturday August 19th at 11 am.
