DIXIE BELLINGER Dixie Bellinger, age 82, passed away on November 3, 2011 in Camas. She was born on May 27, 1929 in Cottonwood, SD to John and Myrl Thomas and moved to Camas as a child. She graduated from Camas High School and married Bill Bellinger in June of 1951. They made their home in Washougal and Dixie worked for a time as a receptionist for Dr. Johnson?s dentist office. She took meticulous care of her yard and flower beds. Dixie also loved being with her family and was very involved with her grandchildren. She spent the past 6 years living at Highland Terrace in Camas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill in 1997. She is survived by her daughters, Christie Meyer of Washougal, Shelley Flohr of Washougal; sister, Betty Jendro of Washougal; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Dixie?s life will be celebrated on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 11AM at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Washougal. A reception will follow in the churches reception hall. She will be laid to rest in the Camas Cemetery next to her husband, Bill. Straub?s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial donations can be made in Dixie?s name to Highland Terrace Nursing Center @ 640 NE Everett, Camas, WA 98607.
