Bob Hays Robert Lee Hays was born September 10, 1929 to Robert and Grace Romine Hays. He passed away on October 20th, 2011 at 82 years old. Robert was raised in Tillamook and graduated from Tillamook High School. In 1949, he enlisted in the US Air Force, and served until 1952 when he was honorably discharged. On June 8, 1952, he was married to his beautiful wife of 57 years, Norma Mooney. They were blessed with 5 children; Debi Blocker of Oregon City, Brad Hays of Phoenix, AZ, Joel Hays of La Pine, OR, Connie Lorch of Washougal, WA, and Robert Hays of Hillsboro, OR. He also had daughters-in-law Annette Hays and Christine Hays, and sons-in-law Dennis Lorch and Dale Blocker, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. In 1962 he moved the family to Portland, before settling in Forest Grove in 1970. There he worked for Stimson Lumber Company, then, in 1977, he helped to start up and subsequently manage Yamhill Scaling Bureau with the help of his wife Norma. They retired in 1990 and hit the road in their motor home to travel the United States, playing as much golf as possible and making friends along the way. Robert loved to golf, dance, and fly model airplanes. He was loved by many, most especially his children. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Norma. Straub?s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas was in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Redmond, OR Hospice or Vancouver, WA Hospice.
