GORDON EUGENE WURZER

After a 4-week long battle with metastatic melanoma, Gordon Wurzer passed away peacefully at his Fern Prairie home, surrounded by his family. He is survived by Linda, his wife of 44 years, daughter Deborah, granddaughter Katelin, son Eric and his wife, Rebecca, grandson Joseph, and mother Elizabeth. He also leaves sisters, Irene Allen and Darlene Croswell Dale, brother, Tom Wurzer and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman, and brother, Ivan.
Gordon was born May 9, 1944 in Vancouver, WA. The family moved to G Street in Washougal when he was two. In 1959, the Smith family, including 11-year-old Linda, moved next door. A loving romance grew out of their friendship. Gordon graduated from Washougal High School in 1963, spent 3 years in the U.S. Army, and worked at the Camas paper mill for 37 ½ years. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, including taking many camping trips. He also enjoyed being a mechanic, craftsman, and classic car enthusiast. He was a kind and generous man with many friends. Gordon will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humor, patience, and willingness to teach people of all ages.
