Edmund Charles Spencer October 15, 1938-June 26, 2011 Ed Spencer, age 72, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011 at his home in Washougal, where he has resided for the past 32 years. He was born and raised in Port Jervis, NY. Ed was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army and also retired from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. He enjoyed spending time with family, going hunting, fishing and cooking. Ed is survived by his wife of 35 years, Pat Spencer; sons, Bill Spencer of Virginia and Chris Spencer of Washougal; daughters, Kate Spencer of California, Connie Stephens of Vancouver, WA and Cheryl Spencer of Wisconsin; 13 grandchildren, two of which lived with him; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ann Jenks of New York, Diane Dunn of New York, Ada Thompson Cupp of Colorado and Joann Bilyou of Florida; and brother, Ray Kahmar of New York. He was preceded in death by his son, Mike Spencer; daughter, Shelia Spencer; and great-granddaughter, Kiana Sommerville. His life was celebrated during a memorial service on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 1pm at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas. A graveside service followed with full military honors at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Straub?s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas was in charge of the arrangements.
