JAMES DEAN LAPE James "Jim" Lape, age 71, passed away at home in Camas on May 28, 2011. He was born on March 13, 1940 in Sioux Falls, SD. Jim joined the Navy at age 17 and was very proud of his service. He later moved to Camas and worked for Corrosion Fiberglass. He then worked for LaValley Fiberglass and transferred with them to Mississippi in 1982. Jim started Lape Industrial Fiberglass in 1985 and retired in 2005 moving back to Camas. Work was his hobby and he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Rae Brebner and brothers, Herman and Terry Lape. He is survived by his wife, Beverly at home; sons, James Lape, Jr. of Oakridge, TN and Brian Dawson of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Jaime Lemmon of Washougal; brother, Gary Lape of Camas and 10 grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
