Cindy posted a condolence

Hi
My name is Cindy and I wanted to say how sorry I was to find out about your loss.
Evelyn and I met in the 8th grade P.E. class. We soon become best friends and continued all though high school. Our 1st real connection was the day her brother was born. My nephew was born the same day a year before. With kids being kids, a rumor had started about her brother being hers. I was so mad I was ready to take on the liar, and did. I use to sleep over often in there log cabin, I loved it. Her dad was convinced I was one of the city kids and tried to scare me with a string off a bale of hayâ?¦I wasnâ??t afraid of snakes so it didnâ??t work.
I have tried many times to go online and find Evelyn buy couldnâ??t. I was on face book hoping to find herâ?¦no luck so I put her name in Google and found her, too late. Last time we spoke she had given birth to twins if I remember correctly.
My husband was from Amboy and also knew Evelyn. Again Iâ??m so sorry for you loss.

Evelyn was a wonderful person. She was always so concerned about her own kids and the many children she worked with.I worked with Evelyn at Hathaway for many years and I always enjoyed her contagious smile and her caring attitude. I hope these things will shine through in her children. Pat Suggs

Evelyn was my first new friend when we moved to Washougal from Massachusetts in 1980. We have remained good friends for thirty years. Her love and friendship have been precious gifts to me and my family. I will miss my dear friend.
We watched Clint, Amanda and Caitlin grow up and it has been a great pleasure to get to know them as the fine adults they have become. Our love and sympathy go out to Evelyn's family.

Evelyn was a beautiful person. She touched many lives with true compassion and love. She was always there for the children who needed a little extra kindness and for their Mom's too. She greeted everyone with a smile. I am so sorry for your loss. May God be with all she left behind.

We will all miss such a loving soul as Evelyn. She always thought of others first and was a champion for all. She lives on in the legacy of her beautiful children who like her are equally good and loving. Evelyn will always be with us in our memories of her. May she rest in peace. She will be greatly missed.

Evelyn was always such a wonderful person. I remember when I was in the 5th grade she had me work around the house for her to earn money and then she took me to my first concert. She will always hold a special place in my heart.

The world is now short one angel, but heaven will be better for it. Your mom was a kind, giving and thoughtful woman. I am glad to have worked with her. I am so sorry that she won't be around to watch how all of your adult lives develop...but I know she will be watching over you..over all of us!

Evelyn was one of the two most loving people I have known in life. There was never a question as to her affection. She lived life with an intensity and zest that few muster. Life is less dear with her leaving.

My heart is sad at the death of Evelyn. It has been quite a number of years since I've seen or talked with her but I would think of her periodically and a smile would come to my face! Clint, Caitlin and Amanda - I watched you all when you were very small children ... Clint, you were at my home when your little sisters were born. Hold your Mom's memory close to your hearts.

Evelyn was a very wonderful lady. We really enjoyed the times we were together. She was a joy to be with. We remember the times she would talk to us about the outdoors and enjoyed seeing our pictures of the woods. We will miss her stories of when she was working with the mules.

I have marvelous memories of Evelyn and the time we spent together working at Hathaway School. Evelyn had a passion for those children who required extra love and kindness just to get through the day. Many a time I came upon her with a child engaged in an intense conversation which always ended with a hug and an "I believe in you!" for the child. I am sad to know I won't be seeing her around town...but am ever so happy to have known and worked with her. May her memories become memories of joy for all who knew her.

Evelyn was a passionate woman with a fighting spirit. It was this spirit that challenged me to love deeper, unselfishly with more meaning. Evelyn taught me to love without fear of rejection or perfection. We ran life?s race together. In the end, we shared scripture, questions, tears, and hope all while trying to seek a greater understanding of God?s promise for our eternal future.
In your final hours, my dear friend, you chose to believe. Your prayer has been answered.
