Where to begin . . . Joan and Vern were like my second parents,
and Joan was a wonderful second mom - she always treated me as one of her own. I will never forget having a beer at the old Log Tavern, her sweet-and-sour green beans and her wonderful chicken cacciatore, shrimping at Brinnon and sturgeon fishing at
Hamilton Island, the yearly family camping trips at Fort Canby
and having a beer at Mary Lou's, and on and on. You were only a
stranger once to Joan, and I never heard her say a bad word
about anyone. She always asked if you were hungry, and if you
were she always made sure you had enough to eat. She was
definitely one in a million, and her passing marks the end of an
era. To Jerry and Linda and all the grandkids, you know she will
always be in our hearts, gone but never ever forgotten
Rest in peace, Mom T.
