LYDIA KAUL
Lydia Kaul was born in Delmont, SD on September 14, 1913 to Frederich and Susanna Bender Weisser.
She is survived by her children, Ronald B. Kaul of Junction City, OR and Sharon A. Marble of Vancouver, WA; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter, one sister, Frieda Baier of Delmont, SD and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Kaul, son, Bobby Lee Kaul, brothers, Ted Weisser, Calvin Weisser, Jacob Weisser, Sam Weisser and sisters, Johanna Lagge, Helen Guthmiller, Katherine Simpfenderfer.
Lydia married Ben Kaul on October 1, 1936 in Scotland, SD. They farmed in the Delmont, Parkston and Avon areas until 1956, when they moved to Washington. They farmed in the Bear Prairie and Fern Prairie areas. Lydia was a homemaker, except for several years when she worked for Crown Zellerbach and then in the gladiolas fields.
Lydia enjoyed cooking and caring for others, gardening and quilting.
Her life will be celebrated on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 1pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 8310 MacArthur Blvd., Vancouver, WA 98664. Burial will be private at the Camas Cemetery. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
