OPAL FERN NIELSON Opal Fern Barzee passed away in Vancouver, Washington at the Ray Hickey Hospice House 14 March 2010. She was 89 years old. She was born Opal Fern Barzee to Clark and Barbara Barzee in Bone, Idaho on 25 Oct. 1920. She graduated from high school in 1939 in Ammon, Idaho. She worked as a housekeeper, assistant manager at a Western Union, a cook at the Clark County Jail, and care giver at several nursing homes in the Vancouver area, and at two insane asylums in Idaho. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery, quilting, reading and walking. She is survived by four children; spouses Joyce LaRae Black Carl, Nolan Nielson Rosemary, Dan Nielson Maria, and Jeneva Sanders Mark. She had 19 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. More great grandchildren are expected soon. Preceding her in death was her husband, Venoy L. Nielson, 5 brothers and 4 sisters and a great grandson. Opal was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Camas, Washington. She had lived there since 1987. Her funeral will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints @ 3017 NW 18th Ave. in Camas, Washington on Friday, March 19, 2010. The viewing will be at 10:00, the funeral will begin at 11:00. Burial will follow at the Lewisville Park Cemetery in Battle Ground, Washington.
