Obituary of Robert LeRoy Nagel

ROBERT "ROY" L. NAGEL Roy Nagel, age 91, passed away December 12, 2009 in Vancouver. He was born August 18, 1918 in Tumwater, WA. He moved to Mt. Norway as a young boy and went through 8th grade at a one room schoolhouse. Roy married Marvel Schweitzberger in Vancouver on August 18, 1945 and he farmed for several years. He later went to work for SPS Railroad, later Burlington Northern, for 30 years. At the same time they owned Totem Pole Laundromat in Hazel Dell for about 15 years from the late 1960's to about 1981. Roy retired to Sequim, WA in 1983 and moved back to Vancouver in October. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and loved roses. When he moved to Sequim he moved 200 rose bushes with him. He is survived by his wife, Marvel; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara & Terrin Pearson of Vancouver; brother, Oscar Nagel of Ione, WA; grandchildren, Jason & Jeff Pearson and Lindsay Peebles; and 4 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 17 at 11AM at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas. Burial will follow at the Camas Cemetery.
