Obituary of Victor Frederick Josi

Victor Josi Victor Frederick Josi, son of Christian and Barbara Matthies Josi was born at home December 29, 1931 in Mulino, Oregon. He died November 3, 2009 in a motorcycle accident. He was 77 years old. Victor was a life long member of Christ Church. He served in the Korean conflict 1952-54, as a combat medic, 25th Lightning Division, 35th Regiment, The Wolfhounds. He was an accountant for over 30 years. Besides his full-time accounting job, for many years he farmed 80 acres and had a custom cabinet shop. Being an avid horseman, he rode in many trail rides, gaming competitions and parades with the Molalla Buckaroo Club. He also made many packing trips to Montana and volunteered for the Forest Service in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area. Victor was a faithful follower of the Iditarod sled dog race, traveling to Alaska at least a dozen times. He even participated in a dog sled excursion above the Arctic Circle. A passionate motorcycle enthusiast, he bought his first motorcycle with his sister, Gloria, when he was 17 years old. He would regularly make trips in excess of 5, 000 miles across the United States following the motorcycle race circuit. His gift of poetry and humor was enjoyed by many in his church and at numerous celebrations including poems written for anniversaries, birthdays and for his grandsons' weddings. He is survived by his sister Gloria Alvin Moore, son Ernie Heather Josi, daughter Vickie Tom Weaver, and grandsons Skyler Shauna Weaver, Jared Weaver, Douglas Kirsten Weaver and Nathan Bache. A memorial service will be held November 15, 2009, 2:30 pm. at Christ Church in Oregon City. Burial was private at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
