George Turner Paige Sr. of Vancouver WA succumbed to cancer August 07, 2009 at the age of 79, with his devoted wife and family at his bedside. Born November 29, 1929 in Robersonville NC to Turner H. Page and Sylvania Page. George served honorably in the ASAF from July 10, 1951 to September 1, 1971, retiring at the rank of MSgt. George was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, NCO Academy Ribbon, A.F. Outstanding Unit Award, A.F. Good Conduct Award, A.F. Commendation Medal 2 oak leaf clusters and the Meritorious Service Medal. After his military service, George served the State of California for 20 years, retiring to enjoy his favorite activities, walking, traveling, reading and spending time with his family and friends. George served as a Deacon at Union Baptist Church, Vallejo CA. for 6 Years. George lived in Fairfield CA, Benicia CA, Simi Valley CA, before settling in Vancouver WA. George is survived by his wife Marilyn Paige of Vancouver WA, Daughter Glenna Paige of San Francisco CA, Stepson and Daughter in-law Eric and Jennifer Brown of Vacaville CA, Grand Daughters Katie and Laura Brown of Vacaville CA, Brother and Sister in-laws, Anthony and Joan Vienna of Pasadena CA, John and Helen Sentesy of Camas WA, Frances Plourd of Simi Valley CA and a host of Nieces and Nephews His Father Turner H. Page, Mother Sylvania Page, first wife Rosa Hancock Paige, Son George T. Paige Jr., Sisters Velma Corbett, Selma McGhee, Rosa Speller, Marjorie Page Brown, and brother John Page preceded George in death. A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, Aug 12, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas WA. A graveside service will follow with Military Honor Guard at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given in George's name to Ray Hickey Hospice, 2112 E.
