Barb, I never got the chance to meet your dad, but my heart goes out to you and your family. Its a rough ride coming to reality that you lost a parent, I still struggle daily with the loss of my dad. Prayers, family, and friends will help, and most of all the memories you hold in your heart. Take care and again im sorry for your loss.
Your dad opened his heart to love and help many people through his generous and giving spirit, his talent with magic tricks and his Christian beliefs. Uncle Otto gave from his heart - an example we all can imitate in our lives. My family could not have had a more wonderful uncle to share memories with - whether it was reliving old stories or walking at Jones Beach - we were glad to be together - and glad to be a family - with love - Gail Charles Justin Jesse Britain Jamie -
I am so sorry for your loss. I spent significant amounts of time at your house on Grand Blvd. & got to know your father from 1962 to 1973 Steve & I were good friends - especially when we were kids through-out the 60s & hung out together most of the time. Your dad could be strict & authoritative at times especially about when I could swim in your pool! but he was always good to me. My own father was very ill during those years & I'll always remember and appreciate the kindness & gentleness your father had shown.
Dear Barbara, Sue and Steve- I was very sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. I have so many memories of how kind both your parents were to me and how welcome they always made me and everyone feel in your home. My thoughts and prayer are with all of you.
Much love and peace from Sue Thomas
