Obituary of Keith James Johnson

KEITH J. JOHNSON Keith J. Johnson, a Camas resident, died Thursday April 23rd in Vancouver. He was 66. Keith was born in Springfield, Missouri on October 1, 1942 to Ruth B. Mayer and Clifford J. Johnson. Since his father was in the military he moved all over the United States as a child. He graduated from high school in Manhattan, Kansas. Keith then served three years in the Marine Corps during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After he was discharged he moved to Camas and began working the paper mill. Keith married Margie Frank in Omaha on April 19, 1985 and would retire from BBA Non-woven in 2002. Keith enjoyed bowling, golf, cribbage and hunting. He was a member of the Camas Moose Lodge and earned the 'Fellow Degree'. He loved fishing and taking cruises traveling all over. He is survived by his wife, Margie, at home; mother, Ruth Johnson of Omaha, NE; daughter, Korina Johnson of St. Louis, MO; sons, Keith Johnson, Jr. and Forrest Johnson both of St. Louis, MO; daughters, Amber VanDyke of Tacoma, WA; Carla S. Johnson of Camas, Melinda McKevitt of Tacoma; sister, Pat Blair of Tyler, TX; brother, Kenneth Johnson of Omaha, NE; and 3 grandchildren. A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, May 1 at 11am at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. A celebration of his life will follow at the Camas Moose Lodge at 1pm. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial donations can be given to either Kaiser Hospice @ 2701 NE Vaughn St. #140, Portland, OR 97210 or the Ray Hickey Hospice House @ 2112 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver, WA 98661.
