Joyce Regalia passed away peacefully on January 3, 2009 in Camas, Washington at the age of 79. She was born in Spokane, Washington on June 22, 1929.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Alfred N. Regalia of Washougal, Washington; son, Dennis Singleton and wife Pam of Roy, Washington; son, Blaine Singleton and wife Carol of Redmond, Washington; stepdaughter, Susan Reed and husband Patrick of Milwaukie, Oregon; stepdaughter, Sharon Regalia and husband, Jeff Tingley of Woodland, Washington; stepdaughter, Sandra Regalia of Battleground Washington; sister, Flora Lee Dacus and husband Gaylon of Vancouver, Washington; brother, J.C. Garber and wife Linda of Vancouver, Washington; seven grandchildren including Michele Clifford; Nikki McDonald; Brandi Singleton; Jennifer Hitzeman; Chris Baker; Kyle Tingley and Scott Singleton and seven great grandchildren.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford J. and Esther R. Garber; first husband, William S. Singleton and first-born son, Michael W. Singleton. Joyce married â??Samâ?? Singleton in 1949. He passed away in 1974. Son, Michael died in 1951 just 24 hours after his birth.
Joyce married Al Regalia on January 16, 1978 and they lived happily together for 31 years. She and Al enjoyed traveling and visited much of the United States in their recreational vehicles during their retirement years. They previously owned a home in Yuma, Arizona where they loved spending their winters. Joyce lived for her family and was absolutely in love with children. She particularly enjoyed summer camping trips with her extended family. Joyce welcomed everyone into her life and had an immediate and lasting impact on everyone she met. No one was a stranger to Joyce Regalia.
The Family extends a special thank you to the entire staff of Highland Terrace Nursing Center in Camas for their loving care of Joyce in the last months of her life.
At Joyceâ??s request, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Doernbecher Childrenâ??s Hospital Foundation, 1121 SW Salmon Street, Suite 201, Portland, OR 97205 on behalf of Joyce C. Regalia.
