Obituary of Helen Senger

HELEN SENGER Helen Senger died Monday, December 29, 2008 at the age of 90. Services will be held Saturday, January 10 at 1:00 PM at the Camas Friends Church located at 1004 NE 4th Ave. Burial will be private at the Camas Cemetery. Helen was born April 30, 1918 to Lawrence and Viva Collins LaFrance in Maitland, MO. When Helen was a young girl the family moved to Portland, OR and then later decided to settle in the Camas area. She met and married Clarence Heriford and had three children. After the death of Clarence in 1969, she later married Bud Senger who preceded her in death in 1980. Helen was an active member of the Camas Friends Church and Christian Womenâ??s Club. She earned her GED and gained a bookkeeping certificate. She was a bookkeeper for Mayflower Milk Co., Ray Hunt Chevrolet and Western Auto Supply. In 1996 she moved to Clatskanie to be closer to her family and became active in the Clatskanie Baptist Church and Christian Womenâ??s Club. Her hobbies were oil painting, crocheting, quilting and spending time with her family. She enjoyed visiting her brother in Florida and other family members in the Midwest, and her daughter, Pat and family in Alaska. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Phillip. She is survived by on brother, Ernest LaFrance of Florida; son, Jim Heriford and wife, Mieko of Ridgefield; daughters, Virginia Shockley and husband Al of Clatskanie and Pat Jones and husband John of Soldotna, Alaska; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Helenâ??s name to Camas Friends Church, 1004 NE 4th Ave. Camas, WA 98607 or Community Hospice, 1035 11th Ave., Longview, WA 98632.
