LARRY QUEEN Larry Queen, of Washougal, passed away October 29, 2008 in Portland, OR from lung cancer at the age of 58. He was born February 5, 1950 in Blue Ridge, GA to Joe and Lula Queen. He was raised in Blue Ridge and worked as an EMT. Larry later became a meat cutter and worked for Kroger. In 1991 he married Barbara and they briefly lived in Boston before moving to Clackamas, OR in 1998. In 2000 they moved to Washougal and Larry continued to work as a meat cutter for Fred Meyer mainly in Battle Ground. His hobbies included gardening, landscaping, canning and making jams and jellies, fishing, woodworking and making furniture. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, at home; son, Eric Queen of Houston, TX; father, Joe Queen of Blue Ridge, GA; brother, Jack Queen of Blue Ridge, GA; sisters, Sue McGill of McDonnough, GA, Tammy Myers of Blue Ridge, GA and granddaughter, Lauren Queen of Houston, TX. A funeral mass will be Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 11am at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas. Burial will follow at the Camas Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10am to 5pm at Straubâ??s Funeral Home in Camas. In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to a charity of choice.
