Obituary of Dorothy H. Shemwell

DOROTHY H. SHEMWELL Dorothy H. Shemwell passed away September 15, 2008 in Vancouver, WA at the age of 85. She was born October 15, 1922 to Dean and June Hickman in Colfax, WA. Dorothy resided in the Vancouver are for 17 years after living in Canada for a number of years. She was a homemaker that loved gardening, and avid reader, knitter, and enjoyed sewing. They traveled to Hawaii and had a home in Indio, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne in 1991 and son, Jim in 1965. Survivors include her daughter, Donna Krom of Kennewick, WA; sister and brother-in-law, Irma and Lea Hornbeck of Washougal, WA; nephew and niece Don and June Phillips of Camas; 4 grandsons, 4 great grandsons and one great-great granddaughter. The Hornbeck family was also her extended family for a number of years. Dorothyâ??s life will be celebrated on Thursday, September 18 at 11am at Straubâ??s Funeral Home in Camas.
