Loraine Roggenkamp
Loraine Roggenkamp went to be with Jesus on 4/22/12. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Arthur Roggenkamp, her children: Marilyn, Camas; Bruce, Lake Tapps , Wa ; Joyce, San Jose CA ; Terry Bonnie, Battleground; Linda Dean Johnson, Camas; Neal, Portland and Keith, BattleGround. Her sister Mary Jo Keith of Cambridge , Mn; her brothers Bill Walz of Vancouver and Dennis Walz, 10 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Dale, her daughter Jenifer, her parents Joe and Mary Walz and brothers Richard and Michael Walz.
She was born November 18, 1928 in Bluffton , Minnesota . She graduated from high school in Wadena Minnesota . She married Art Roggenkamp in 1948, they lived in Milwaukee , Wisconsin until they moved to Camas Washington in 1966. She was a homemaker, raising 9 children and occasionally helping her husband with their business Roggenkamp Construction. She enjoyed trail riding and 2 week camping trips in Idaho by horse and mule. Many people in the community have the slippers that she loved to make. She was recently honored for 40 years of service in St. Vincent DePaul where her compassion and love for people touched many lives as she shared her faith in Christ and her deep and abiding love for Jesus. She was an active member of the Circle of Love charismatic prayer group and a Eucharistic minister at St. Thomas Catholic church. She has been the center of our family and she will be so missed. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Memorial gifts may be given to St. Vincent DePaul at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Camas, Wa.
A Vigil service will be held on Wednesday, April 25 at St. Thomas Catholic Church at 6:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, April 26, at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas . Interment will follow at the Camas Cemetery . Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
