Obituary of Evelyn M. Myers

EVELYN M. MYERS Evelyn M. Myers passed away June 14 at home in Brush Prairie at the age of 85. She was born September 11, 1922 in Circle, MT to Lon and Theresa McNett. They moved to the Camas/Washougal area when she was 13. Evelyn graduated from Camas High School and married Clayton Myers when she was 17. She worked at the Vancouver Shipyards was a welder and then she helped run their turkey farm and later a dairy farm. They operated a mini mart out by LaCamas Lake and Evelyn eventually drove bus for the Camas School District before retiring. Her greatest interest was her children and her grandchildren. She was also a long time member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Myers, sons, Paul and Tom Myers and brothers, Clinton, Warren and Jim McNett. Survivors include her children, Jeanette Schmid of Washougal, WA, Julie Wavra Silverton, OR, Pam Godsil of Vancouver, WA, Jim Myers of Vancouver, WA, Joe Myers of Washougal, WA, Richard Myers of Sahuarita, AZ, Chris Johnson of Woodland, WA, Ginny Cox of Brush Prairie, WA, Peter Myers of Vancouver, WA, John Myers of Camas, WA, Mark Myers of Bend, OR; sisters, Clara Komar of Bend, OR, Mary Mason of Vancouver, WA, Ann Nichols of Portland, OR; brother, John McNett of King City, CA; 30 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren. A rosary service will be held Wednesday, June 18 at 6pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas. A funeral mass will be Thursday, June 19 at 11am at the church.
