CHARLES THOMAS KIRK, JR. Charles Kirk, Jr., of Camas, passed away May 30, 2008 in Vancouver at the age of 84. He was born December 28, 1923 in Bozeman, MT where he was raised. He was drafted into the Army during WWII and returned to Bozeman and began farming. He moved to Oregon and later to California. While in California he worked in appliance repair, commercial scales repair and calibrating, and in maintenance control for the US Post Office. He retired in 1989 and moved to Camas to be close to family. Charles was a member of the Methodist Church in Camas and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed tying flies, reading and camping. He was a regular at the Lakeside Chalet and loved being with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Duane in 2000. Survivors include his wife, Doris of Camas; sons, Bob of Camas; 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, June 5 at 2pm at the United Methodist Church in Camas. Inurnment will be private at the Camas Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Straubâ??s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas. Memorial donations can be given to either the Ray Hickey Hospice House at 2112 E.
