Obituary of Esther Lillian Schmid

ESTHER LILLIAN SCHMID Esther Schmid, age 88, passed away May 24, 2008 in Vancouver. She was born April 5, 1920 in Camas, WA to Vincent and Della Buttler where she was raised and lived most of her life. She married Maximilian Max Joseph Schmid, Jr. August 24, 1940. She was very active in various clubs and organizations including, General Federation of Womenâ??s Club, Navy Mothers, Catholic Daughters, Aquinas Guild, and Fern Prairie Old Timers Organization 30 years. She loved gardening, senior trips and being around family and friends. She was preceded in death by son, Anthony Lanny Schmid in 1976 and brother, Raymond Buttler in 2004. Survivors include her husband, Max of Camas; son, Dennis Schmid and wife, Betty of Camas; daughter, Judy Davis and husband, Grover of Port Orchard, WA; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 11am at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas. Vault interment will follow at the Camas Cemetery. An evening vigil service will be Friday at 6pm at St. Thomas. Visitation will be Friday from 10am to 5pm at Straubâ??s Funeral Home in Camas.
