Passed away peacefully on April 24, 2008, at Cascade Park Care Ctr. in Vancouver, WA.
Born to Etta Hudson and Theodore G. Krohn on Oct. 21, 1925, she grew up in the Washougal, WA area. The family first lived on the Krohn homestead in the Sunnyside area, later moving into town, to attend school, work, and where she graduated in 1943.
Lovelle married her high school sweetheart, R. Franklin Bair, Jr. on June 4, 1944.
After graduating high school, Lovelle attended Emanuel Hospital School of Nursing in Portland, OR, receiving her nursing degree, and graduating in 1947.
Upon Franklinâ??s discharge from the Army, they moved to Pullman, WA, where he attended Washington State College now WSU, continuing his studies, receiving his pharmacy degree, and graduating in 1950.
They also started their family during this time, with Rick being born in 1947.
After graduation, the family returned to Washougal, where Franklin was employed at Bolgerâ??s Pharmacy. Their family continued to grow, with the addition of Barbara in 1950, Christine in 1952, and finally Louanne in 1955.
Lovelle kept busy beyond raising her family. She was an on-call RN for in-home care patients, and staff RN at the office of Drs. Carpenter, Brooking, Dyck and Goodwin in Camas, WA. Employment also included admitting RN at St. Josephâ??s Hospital, in Vancouver, WA, and occupational health nurse/ OHRN at Crown Zellerbach, where she retired from in 1985.
Girl scouting was important to Lovelle. She had been a scout as a child. Lovelle was the on-site nurse at Camp Julianna, the GS camp just outside of Battleground WA, across from Lewisville Park. Her name was â??Patchesâ??, and she and her girls spent several formative summers there, overseeing summer campers.
Traveling provided a time to relax. Trips included family time at the WA and OR coasts, visiting with her mother in Ocean Park, WA. Later trips introduced eastern WA and OR, Idaho, and travels to Canada. After retirement, Lovelle liked to travel with her sister Mildred, cruising to Alaska where she flew in a pontoon plane over the glaciers. They also took a longer trip, cruising from Florida, around the surrounding islands, thru the Panama Canal during â??Operation Just Causeâ?? then returning home. Trips to Hawaii, Lake Tahoe in NV, and Sunriver in OR, with family and friends also were favorites.
Preceding her in death were her parents Theodore and Etta Krohn, Franklin, her husband of 43 years in 1987, her daughter Louanne F. Marshall in 2003, and her son Rick Bair in 2006.
Lovelle is survived by her daughters Barbara K. Bair in Vancouver WA, and Christine L. Kamps in Washougal WA., three granddaughters, Rebecca Isaac Benson in Vancouver, WA, Molly Marshall in Camas, WA, Megan Marshall in Tempe, AZ, one great-granddaughter Hannah, daughter-in-law Tina Gilson Bair, and son-in-law Robert L.
