Obituary of Pearl Louise Pietz

PEARL L. PIETZ Pearl L. Pietz, age 87, passed away on April 5, 2012 in Vancouver. She was born on August 2, 1924 in Dawson, ND. Pearl grew up in North Dakota and moved to San Francisco during WWII. It was there that she met Harold Pietz. They married in 1942 and moved to Pomona, CA where they lived and raised their family. In 1967 they moved to Portland and Pearl worked for Jantzen Swimwear for several years before retiring. Family and friends were her main interests but she also loved to work around her house. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold after 65 years of marriage and her son, Terry Pietz. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Buck and Kathy Slocum both of Camas; sisters, Evelyn McClinton of Hesperia, CA, Frances Hill of Napa, CA; 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 11 at 11AM at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas. Burial will follow at the Camas Cemetery.
