Obituary of Berniece Estelle Huffman

BERNIECE ESTELLE HUFFMAN Berniece Huffman, age 91, passed away March 20, 2008 in Vancouver. She was born February 22, 1917 in Oklahoma City, OK and moved to Kansas as an infant. She later lived in Mexico for 14 years before moving back to Kansas. She attended college in Texas and in 1952 met Robert Huffman and they lived in San Diego until his discharge from the Navy. They came to Washougal in 1954 and lived here until moving to Vancouver 20 years ago. She was a wonderful gardener and cook. She loved entertaining and dancing, winning contests with Robert. She also loved animals, taking in many strays. Survivors include her husband Robert of Vancouver; daughter, Sue & Milton Ferguson of Washougal; grandchildren, Michelle Bland of Puyallup, WA, Michael Ostrom of Hermiston, OR and 8 great grandchildren. A private family gathering will be held later. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Straubâ??s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas.
