Obituary of Grace Alberta Coulson

GRACE ALBERTA COULSON Grace Coulson, age 97, passed away February 26, 2008 in Vancouver, WA. She was born March 17, 1910 in Columbia, MO to Nancy McCowen and Albert Moody. Grace married H.R. Coulson on August 31, 1933 in Ottumwa, IA. In 1945 they moved from Merino, CO to Husum, WA. Grace helped H.R. pastor the Church of God in Merino and in Husum from 1945 until 1967 when they moved to Goldendale, WA. She was an accomplished piano player and played for the church for 86 years. Her favorite was to play for people to sing along to. Grace was a wonderful story teller. Even in her senior years she would go to the state penitentiary to play piano and tell stories. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.R. Coulson; son, James Coulson and parents Albert and Nancy Moody. She is survived by her sons, Phillip Coulson of Atlanta, GA, David & Karen Coulson of Kennewick, WA; daughter, Nancy & Jerry Nail of Vancouver, WA; cousin, John Al Canada of Arizona; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. A celebration of life service was held Saturday, March 1 at 1pm at the Grace Brethren Church in Goldendale, WA. Inurnment will be private at the White Salmon Cemetery.
