ALBAN BRIAND
Alban Briand was born in 1922 in Cognac, France and was a veteran of WWII where he fought in the french resistance. After the war he became a skilled stone mason in southern France. He later moved to Canada for several years and finally to the USA where he founded a decorative masonry company in Key Largo, Florida. Alban enjoyed traveling, good food and wine, painting, and accordion music. Later in his life, Alban moved to Central Florida where he was well cared for by family and a dear friend, Mike McCann and Rejeanne. Alban spent his final months living in Camas, WA with his son & Daughter in Law and the companionship of the family beagle, Wally.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: Claudine & Claude Girard of Canada, Josette Briand of Canada, Nicole Briand of Canada, Liliane Briand & Andre Parent of Canada, Jacqueline Briand of Canada, Gerard Briand of Florida, Jean-Claude Briand of France, Annick & Claude Bedard of Canada, Alain and Lisa Briand of Washington, Lyne Briand of Florida, And by his ex-wife, Rejeanne Brousseau.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 20 in Mt. Dora, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name with Banfield Charitable Trust's Pet Peace of Mind Program http://www.banfieldcharitabletrust.org/donate/ .
