Obituary of Duane Jackson

DUANE JACKSON Duane Jackson, 83, passed away at home in Vancouver on August 31, 2007. He was born March 26, 1924 in Asotin, WA and grew up in the Lewiston/Clarkston area. After graduating from Clarkston High School he joined the Navy and served during WWII. In 1949 he married Bessie Shafer in Canby, OR and moved to Washougal. They settled in Camas 41 years ago and Willis worked at the paper mill. After he retired he enjoyed fishing, playing the steel guitar and drawing horses. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, Bessie; daughters, Patti Jackson of Portland and Akasha Skye of Camas; son, Ken Jackson of Camas and 4 grandchildren. A memorial service will be Saturday, October 6 at 2PM at the Camas Church of the Nazarene. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is handling the arrangements.
