Obituary of Stephen R. Nicewonger

STEPHEN R. NICEWONGER Feb. 1, 1943~May 30, 2007 Our loving father became an Angel on Wednesday evening. He will be watching over his wife, Marilyn; mother, Waunita; brother, Paul; sister, Nancy Knipe; daughters, Debbie Dickerson, Julie Cooper, and Marilee Burks; granddaughter, Jessica Dickerson; and many special friends and family. Steve grew up in Vancouver, WA and graduated in 1961 from Fort Vancouver High School. In his youth he was very athletic, being tall and lean. He excelled at basketball and loved water skiing. Daddy was a fighter. In June of 1962, a car accident paralyzed him from the chest down, however, that didn?t keep him from working for over 40 years as the service manager for The Nicewonger Company. In the late 80?s he even got his drivers license again, and drove himself in a special van set up just for him. Our Dad was always helping others. From a shoulder to lean or cry on, to financial help, his big heart had room for everyone. He loved to go to chick-flicks, play 21 at casinos, take friends and family out to dinner, loud music and playing games on the internet. Our Daddy was our hero, he taught us strength, patience and when to double down. We will miss him. But, we know he will be watching over all of us as long as we live.
