Obituary of Richard K. Hammond, Jr.

RICHARD K. HAMMOND JR. Richard Hammond, Jr., age, 84, passed away February 5, 2007 in Vancouver. He was born on November 8, 1922 in Andover, NY. He grew up in New York and joined the Army Air Force during WWII. In 1950 he married Edith Richards in Vancouver. Richard worked several jobs including working on the Columbia Dredge, for Willard Battery and owned his own service station. He mainly worked as a salesman for Lyman Slack Chevrolet in Portland for several years. In later years he would manage motels and work as a host at state parks. He is survived by his sons, Terry Hammond of Portland and Jay Richards of Camas and several grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
