Obituary of Leonard P. James

LEONARD P. JAMES Leonard James, a longtime Camas resident, passed away January 6, 2006 in Vancouver at the age of 75. He was born May 29, 1931 in Vancouver and was raised here in Camas. He worked for a short time for the Forestry Service before going to work full time at Crown Zellerbach in the Craft Mill. Leonard married Mary Shefchek in 1951 and they raised their family here in Camas. He retired from the mill in 1986. Mr. James attended all the Camas High School Football games and was an overall high school athletic program supporter. He also love steelhead fishing. He is survived by his wife, Mary at home; children, Peter and Gary James both of Camas, Jackie Veith and Richard James both of Vancouver and Sherrie Jaynes of Ridgefield; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 11 at 1pm at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas. Burial will be private at the Camas Cemetery.
