CHARLOTTE E. PILLER
Charlotte Piller, a longtime Washougal resident, passed away April 18, 2008 in Vancouver at the age of 90. She was born December 30, 1917 in Estacada, OR to John and Minnie Peterson. Charlotte married Jake Piller and was a devoted mother to six children. She was a homemaker until the early 1960â??s when her and Jake started their own business making plastic falling wedges used by loggers. Piller Plastics grew from a small business out of their home into a large plastics manufacturer located at the Washougal Industrial Park. Charlotte devoted over 20 years to being the secretary and bookkeeper for the business. Together she and Jake lived on their farm on the Washougal River for 65 years. After retiring they traveled the Northwest and Alaska rock hunting and camping. She also traveled to Russia, Israel, and many parts of the U.S. with family and friends. She always enjoyed the occasional quick trip to the Oregon and Washington beaches.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake and son, Don Piller.
Survivors include her daughters, Joanne Bedell, Bill of Yuma, AZ, Linda Banta, Wayne of Washougal, Susan Allen, Lynn of Leavenworth, WA; sons, Jim Piller, Kathleen of Prineville, OR, Mike Piller, Sherry of Washougal; and many grand, great and great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be Friday, April 25 at 2pm at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 1pm to 5pm and Friday from 9am to 12pm at Straubâ??s Funeral Home in Camas.
