Marion Dale Nichols

August 27, 1929 – August 5, 2026

Marion (or Dale as many called him) Nichols passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026

in Portland, OR. He was 96 years old.

Marion was born to Perry and Anna Nichols in Belgrade, Nebraska. His family moved to

Stevenson, WA in 1944 when he was 15 yrs old and after a brief stay settled in Camas,

WA. Where he graduated from Washougal High School class of 1949. In 1951 Marion

enlisted in Army serving in the Korean Conflict stationed in Japan until 1953.

On June 12, 1954 he married the love of his life Beverly Farley, they were married over

61 yrs raising their family.

Marion went to work at the Crown Zellerbach papermill in Camas for 33 yrs in the Bag

Factory.  He was a family man, remembering his roots, taking trips back to Nebraska to visit

family and along the way many National Parks. Also spending time at the

Washington/Oregon coast. He was faithful, honest and steadfast in everything he did.

Around 1982 Marion committed his life to the Lord Jesus and became a member of the

Nazarene Church where he and Bev served as custodians many yrs.

Marion was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly, son Thomas, brothers

Robert and Glee, and sister Doris Norman. He is survived by children Rick (Tamra)

Nichols, Douglas (Cheryl) Nichols, Sheri (Gary) Allen, and Todd Nichols, sisters Joyce

Williamson and Iola Kennedy, Brother Louis Nichols, 7 grandchildren and 12 great

grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Todd Nichols for helping dad stay at

home and giving him loving care and companionship.

Marion will be missed by all who knew him!
