Colleen Elsie Lobdell (Cournyer)

Colleen Elsie Lobdell (Cournyer) passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, at the age of 88.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elsie (Jane) Cournyer; her brothers, Michael and Ernest “Cony” Cournyer; and her sister, Linda.

Colleen leaves behind her children: Brad (Gina), Cony (Diane), Cindy (Tim), Wendy, and Lori (Eric). She was also the proud grandmother of Nikalia (Jesse), Justin (Katie), Ann-Marie (Kelly), Joey (Nicole), Andy (Burgandy), Landon, Thomas (Ashley), Amanda (Jordan), Ashley (Cody), Tyler, Elena (Daniel) and Auxana (Codie). Together, her grandchildren blessed her with 30 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.

Born in Tacoma, Washington, Colleen spent much of her childhood in a military family. Although she had a lifelong fear of flying, she traveled more of the world than she ever imagined. One of her favorite stories was giving birth to her daughter Lori while living in Spain.

After returning to the United States, Colleen truly found her stride. In Mississippi, she enjoyed horses and fishing. Later, back in Washington State, she became well known as a bartender, tavern owner, and champion of both billiards and shuffleboard. She loved people, friendly competition, and never met a stranger for long.

Above all else, Colleen’s greatest joy was her family. Becoming a grandmother was the role she cherished most. She never hesitated to travel to spend time with her grandchildren, and her home was always open to them—whether they were visiting for a weekend or staying a little longer. She treasured every trip, holiday, and adventure they shared, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.

One of life’s greatest blessings was watching many of her grandchildren become parents themselves. She knew that not everyone is fortunate enough to see multiple generations of their family grow, and she treasured every moment she had with her great-grandchildren. They brought her endless pride, laughter, and love.

Colleen will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, competitive nature, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her greatest legacy is the love she poured into her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
