Donald VanLuvanee Donald Don R. VanLuvanee, 72, passed away surrounded by his family on September 7, 2016, in Vancouver, WA. He was born on July 3, 1944 in Neosho, Missouri, to Harry and Joyce VanLuvanee Skillen. Don grew up in Endicott, NY, and graduated from Union-Endicott High School in 1964. After high school, he attended Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute RPI in Troy, NY, after being awarded the IBM Watson scholarship. He received both his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees with honors in Engineering from RPI. He had a successful and illustrious career, having worked in technical and leadership roles for many high-profile companies including General Electric, IBM, Texas Instruments, and Kulicke Soffa. He received numerous awards and honors for his exemplary contributions as a businessman, entrepreneur, and philanthropist and served on the board numerous companies, the Board of Higher Education, and in volunteer roles with multiple colleges in Oregon. He retired from Electro Scientific Industries in 2001 and lived a full and happy life in retirement. Don married Lynne Hodge in 1966 in Albany, NY. They were happily married for 50 years. Don is survived by his wife, Lynne, of Washougal, WA; his son, Ken VanLuvanee, his wife, Lisa, and grandchildren, Adam, Emma, Grayson and Dane of Audubon, PA; and his son Daryl VanLuvanee, his wife, Teri, and grandchildren, Kendrik and Duncan. In life, Don enjoyed racing cars, fishing, folk music, and his 6 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Straub funeral home, 325 NE 3rd Ave, Camas, WA on Monday September 12, 2016 at 11am.
