Obituary of Sarah Lillis dedmore

SARAH DEDMORE Sarah Dedmore passed away peacefully Thursday, September 1, 2016. She was a very young 97 years old. Mrs. Dedmore was born March 26, 1919 in Vancouver, WA and lived her whole life in the Washougal/Camas area. She married the love of her life, Keith, on February 25, 1939. They moved to Camas in 1952 and they lived in the same house for 64 years. She belonged to the first Girl Scout troop in the Columbia River counsel of Washougal. She remained in "scouting" throughout her life and was a leader for both of her daughters. She loved volunteer work and you could find her often at her children's school, the Treasure House or her church. She enjoyed many activities including her pinochle, Bunco, and senior citizens group. She was loved by so many and became mom and grandma to many of her children's friends. She is survived by her son, Gary Shirlee of Camas; daughters, Terry Patrick Dodds of Vancouver and Norene Richie Bartkowski of Goldendale, WA; brother, Tom Wilson; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith and daughter, Sue. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 8 at 1pm at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas. Burial will follow at the Camas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Girl Scouts of Western Washington, www.GirlScoutsWW.org or to a charity of your choice.
